Stage Management at each venue will provide performing Artists (musicians or music use) with an APRA (AUSTRALASIAN PERFORMING RIGHTS ASSOCIATION) Performance Statement.
You will be required to complete these forms with your set list details prior or post your performance. APRA forms will be collected from venues and submitted to APRA on your behalf.
Completing the APRA Performance Statement helps support your industry and strengthens APRA’s activities. It assists us in fulfilling our obligations as a presenter.

Festival Ticket Opening Hours
The Festival ticket gates are located either side of the entrance. There is a designated Artist registration at each entry point.
Please note the following ticketing gate times for registration and arrival:
- Friday from 4pm
- Saturday 8am – 7pm
- Sunday 8am – 3pm

Artists Responsibilities
Artists accept responsibility for their own Public Liability Insurance. When performing, you are a festival service provider and as such, are not covered by the Festival’s public liability insurance. We suggest investigating insurance options with Folk Alliance Australia, see www.folkalliance.org.au and follow the links to ‘insurance’. You need to be or become a member of Folk Alliance Australia.
Artists also accept all responsibility for their Tax Obligations, Superannuation and WorkCover requirements.
Artists are responsible for their meals and drinks, ie there are no Artist catering riders. Water will be provided at stages.
Stage Set-Up Forms and Backline Request
Backline is different for each venue so please check all the venues you plan to play in!
- Bunya – Bass, guitar amps, drum kit
- Platypus – Bass amp. drum kit
- Obi Obi – Drum kit, bass amp; electric guitar amp
Please upload your backline and stage plot to Jotform if you haven’t already provided details.
Note: Drummers must BYO cymbals, snare and sticks.
Festival Raffle – CD Donation Please
If would be greatly appreciated if you would like to donate a CD or merchandise for the festival raffle.
These can be dropped off at the Festival merch tent during the Festival or with Tess and Jen (Artist Registration Team) when being registered.
Getting to the Festival
Address for the festival site: 13 Maleny-Stanley River Road, Maleny (Route 23), just 1km from the centre of town.
Instrument Lockup & Green Room (beside the festival shop)
- Instrument drop off is open from 9am daily until ½ hour after the last gig.
- Friday, instrument drop off will be open from 2pm for storage only.
- Festival gates open at 4pm.
- The festival does not take any responsibility for instruments stored on site.
- Instrument pick up from 7.45 am Saturday and Sunday.
- All instruments and merch collected by 4pm Sunday.
Merchandise Sales & Payment
You are most welcome to sell your merchandise at the festival. We just ask that this happens off-stage and in a way that doesn’t disrupt the next performance.
Please bring extra stock to the Festival Shop along with the Merch sheet provided at Artist Ticketing. Our wonderful merch volunteers will be ready to sell it on your behalf.
Merchandise payments will be processed after the festival, together with artist invoices. There is no commission or consignment fee for selling your merchandise at the festival

Car Parking
There will be plenty of car parking on site. If you are preforming for just one day, please advise ticket staff on the gate and they will direct you to loading zone next to main venues. You can then park nearby..
Payment
If you are being paid a fee, please provide an Invoice/Tax Invoice including your ABN and GST details (if applicable). No invoice = no payment.

Handing it in at the Artist Registration desk in the Festival Office on arrival.
Performance Etiquette & Conditions
- All performers must check in with the Venue Manager at least 30 minutes before your set to allow for sound checks and stage setup. Please keep your performance to the scheduled time so the next act can start on time.
- Any extra setup required will come out of your own performance slot.
- The Venue Manager or MC will usually give you a 10-minute call to wrap up.
- Some venues have dedicated setup/changeover time, but smaller stages and theme concerts may not. As a general rule, no encores – instead, let the audience know where else they can catch you or where to find your recordings.
- Drinking water will be available at all venues. If supplies run out, please let the Venue Manager know.
Please note: Festival organisers reserve the right to adjust venue or performance times if necessary.

Late-night sessions are held in the Session Tent or Boobook venue and must finish by midnight.

Please support the Festival Bar – proceeds from these venues help keep the festival running.

Blackboard Concerts are designed mainly for non-festival acts, so MCs will give these performers priority over booked acts.

We’re a proud waste wise and recycling-focused festival. Everything from the stallholders goes in the compost bins: plates cups food the lot! Check in with Waste Action Maleny stall for more information about our waste wise intitives.
#BYOBOTTLE Dont forget to BYO your own reusable water bottle if you prefer a bottle over a cup. There will be reusable cups and refill water provided for each stage.Please dispose of rubbish thoughtfully and recycle wherever possible.

As a booked artist, your first job is to let the world know you’re playing.
Share that it’s an intimate festival with fantastic acts, a warm family atmosphere and one of the friendliest vibes you’ll ever experience. Audiences can enjoy a huge variety of music and performances across the weekend.

Registration & Partner Passes
When you arrive at the main entrance, first set up your campsite, then head to the Artist Registration desk (located at either gate).
At registration, your pass will be validated, you’ll receive your wristband, and be given any final instructions or program updates.
