This project came about almost by accident.
Meryn met Frank and his wife, Renee, at the Redcliffe markets. The couple purchased her books, and later Frank contacted Meryn asking if she’d like to work on a children’s album. She sent him some poems, he put a tune to them, and they then worked together on harmonies.
They named the collaboration The Pretzel Poem Project. The Pretzel is for Frank who is German, and Poem for Meryn, the poet. Frank had heard many tales on the origin of the pretzel, and thought the album needed a song to tell that story. The pair started researching all these stories, and The Baker’s Son was the result.
